This Winchester manufactured U.S. M-1 Carbine has 1,175,000 serial number range; and that dates it to the first Year of Production, 1942. Winchester, of course, was the only contractor who had previously manufactured any firearms at all. Barrel is correctly marked with the simple W right above the bayonet lug shroud. Rear sight is dark blue, possibly GI, but more likely South Korean. Blue Sky import marking with its Arlington, VA address is roll stamped on the left forward area of the barrel. This rifle is among several hundred imported during the Reagan Era, from a South Korean domicile. Finish is authentic GI Parkerized, possibly a Re-park, but with sharp lettering throughout. Stock is semi-gloss walnut, possibly replacement but definitely correct configuration as is the butt plate and sling. Principal surface wear is on the bolt body, with extensive operation whitening.
