Seller Description
This auction is for a genuine Traditions Buckhunter .50 caliber in-line muzzleloader in Good to Very Good Condition. It has #11 ignition; it is in-line/ it has all its parts except for a ramrod; and we have photographed and described it in precise detail.
First photo here shows the rifle as we received it, but we have disassembled it for shipment and closeup photography. The synthetic stock, second photo, shows in Excellent Condition with no conspicuous scuffs or detracting features. It has no swivel studs, but it is already drilled for them.
Third, fourth, fifth, and sixth photos show the barrel and receiver assembly. On the barrel assembly, the Ramrod is not included; the ramrod is battered anyway, and its barrel thimble is missing. The barrel itself is an excellent quality Spanish made Traditions muzzleloader with the ideal twist rate for sabots or long, Maxi-Ball type bullets, 1 twist in 32 inches. The 24 inch barrel is optimal for portability and powder ignition rate. The adjustable rifle sights are very similar to what a person finds on a Remington High-Powered Rifle, only in high-impact plastic synthetic. As far as the barrel itself, the rich, streaked-blue metal finish is intact on 85 to 90 percent of the metal surface. The detraction, however, is that one of our McNairy County customers left this rifle sitting up loaded after it had been fired. While it is difficult to take informative bore shots, the rifling lands are strong but the bore is affected by about 50 percent light pitting and some moderate pitting toward the chamber. Photo where the barrel appears bent is definitely a distortion: the barrel is perfectly straight. Despite the light pitting this rifle, we believe, will generate ample rifling contact for plastic sabots and even for tight-fitting lead bullets. It is still very serviceable.
Seventh photo’s parts show the firing bolt, firint spring, spring guide, bolt handle, breech plug, nipple, receiver cap, and complete trigger assembly. Note that the trigger assembly has a break for one of its screw wings, but the wing is included and the rifle functioned fine with it in that condition. Own this entire rifle simply by being the highest elevation bidder on its Guns America Auction that ends Wednesday Night, August 1.
