Scarce Swiss breech loading M.1863-67 Milbank-Amsler rifle converted from percussion M.1863 rifle. Swinging-block mechanism conversion was approved for the Swiss army issue in December 1863. The rifle displays markings on the breech mechanism, "Gebruder Sulzer, Winthertur". These are the markings of the factory that converted the rifle from percussion to breech loading system. The lock plate displays following gun maker’s markings, "von Erlach & C. in Thun.". CONDITION: Excellent. 78% of the finish is still present on the metal. Excellent bore with sharp rifling.
