Swiss K31 Military Rifle

This Swiss Model K31 rifle is a magazine-fed, straight-pull bolt action rifle. It was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss armed forces from 1933 until 1958 though some remained in service into the 1970s. It has a 6-round removable magazine, and is chambered for the 7.5×55mm Swiss a cartridge with ballistic qualities similar to the 7.62×51mm NATO/.308 Winchester cartridge. Each rifle included a detachable box magazine with matching stamped serial number. The Model K31 rifles are noted for their excellent accuracy and quality. The Swiss armed forces considered individual marksmanship to be of utmost importance. Therefore, the K31 was made with tight tolerances and excellent overall craftsmanship. According to the Swiss Military manual for the K31 expected accuracy off a fix rest at a range of 328 yards was 2 inches. Accuracy of fire at a range of 1,094 yards was 8 inches. This K31 rifle has all stamped matching serial numbers: bolt, barrel, receiver and magazine. Metal blue is at 90+%. Stock and hand guards show normal use with no cracks. Bore condition is bright. Comes with original Swiss military leather sling. Rifle also has an original Swiss brass muzzle protector on the rifle muzzle. Serial number puts it manufacture date as 1954. This rifle was purchased by a collector in 2002 then put away and never fired. Comes with original importers hand tag. This K31 would make a good addition to a collection or an excellent shooter.
