Springfield Model 1855 Musket

Springfield Model 1855 Civil War Musket 58 cal Bore VG, Mech Exc, Wood VG plus with faint cartouche, has a splice under the middle band but is original wood , probably shortened for shipping. Also has the Iron Patchbox in the right side of the stock. Has a 40” Rd barrel with original sights, proofs markings, and excellent 1860 date. The lockplate has excellent markings 1860 date and US Springfield markings along with an excellent eagle marking on the door. The tape primer system is complete and working. Has the correct US marked buttplate , Original sling swivels, correct original barrel bands and Original ramrod. Metal overall has an aged grey patina finish with some fine pitting mainly on the patchbox. This is the most desirable 1855 musket with patchbox. All original , complete and great condition
