Springfield Armory M1 .308 from the collection of Robert K. Brown. Serial 7008539 features a 24-inch barrel, adjustable aperture rear sight, trapdoor butt plate and 1.25-inch leather sling. MARKINGS: “NM 062” appears on the right front sight ear, “NM” rides the barrel and “308 Genesio IL” is marked on the barrel under the operating rod. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 10.6 pounds and length-of-pull is 13.2 inches. CONDITION: The bore shows moderate roughness yet remains bright. Bedding compound is visible at the base of the action. Metal finish is at least 95 percent and the walnut is at least 90 percent. LT. COL. ROBERT K. BROWN, USAR (Ret.) has lived a life of incredible adventure.
