Seller Description
Spike's Tactical ST-22 dedicated .22 LR Upper, with DPMS AP4 5.56/.223 Lower - complete rifle (Used - Like New) This is one of the only .22LR Uppers that CAN fire full-auto with a registered full-auto lower [all NFA rules apply] (but fires semi-auto only, if mated to a semi-auto-only Lower receiver). However, this particular complete rifle is made with a semi-auto-only receiver and will therefore NOT fire full-auto (fires semi-auto only). ST-22 Uppers are available complete with dedicated .22LR bolt and charging handle. Spike's Tactical went with the Jonathan Arthur Ciener bolt design to avoid using proprietary design parts. They are machined from heat treated 4140 Chromoly with an NP3 Nickel Teflon finish. These dedicated 16" 22LR Uppers have barrels that are CNC machined out of Chrome Moly Match Grade Air Gauged barrel blanks with a Mil Spec parkerized finish. They have the proper 1:16 twist rate for the 22LR round. NOTE: The 16" Barrel fits into the receiver approximately 1.5", so the Upper has the true M4 Military 14.5" look to it. It is NOT an SBR Upper! Condition: Used - Like New NOTE: Rifles or dedicated uppers with .22LR-chambered barrels are far more accurate than "drop-in" .22LR adapters used with .223-chambered barrels. There are two reasons for this. One, the centerfire bore is supposed to have a nominal diameter of .224-inch, while the rimfire bore is supposed to have a nominal diameter of .221-inch. Those three thousandths of an inch do matter. Also, .223 barrels use a twist rate anywhere from one turn in 7 inches, to one turn in 12 inches. A .22LR bore has a twist of one turn in 16 inches. The too fast 7-inch to 12-inch twist, combined with the loose bore, means poor accuracy. To fill the .223 chamber, .22 rimfire conversions have a chamber-shaped extension. A smoothbore extension. So the bullet starts out skidding down a smooth bore, then slams into an overly large and too-fast twist bore. • Complete rifle on sale for $699.00 • MSRP for complete rifle: $1,235.95 • Spikes Tactical ST-22 dedicated .22 LR Upper MSRP: $868.00 • DPMS AP4 5.56/.223 Lower MSRP: $367.95 • M4 Flat Top Upper • 16" 1x16 Twist Chrome Moly Barrel • Quad Rail • A2 "Birdcage" Flash hider • ST-22 .22LR Dedicated Bolt • Spike's Tactical Lifetime Warranty Will consider selling upper and lower separately. ------------------------------- IMPORTANT NOTE: Not available for sale in NJ.
