At press time we only had a few of these; and these are the first 4516 magazines we’ve had in quite some time. These aren’t easy to get; this magazine will fit any Compact variant of the 4500 series Smith & Wesson Pistols, including Models 4513, 4516, 4553, the economy 457 variant; and even, in a pinch, the CS-45 Chief’s Special but with some protrusion from the grip frame on the CS45. Manufacturer, of course, is Smith & Wesson. Construction is stainless steel body with steel spring, black polymer semi finger rest floorplate, and yellow polymer cartridge follower. Yellow followers, by our poor memory, came with the first issue 4516 and 4516-1 pistols from 1989 to 1992, and the TEE serial number prefix 4516-1 in some of our photos with its original issue yellow follower magazines dates from this early period. These magazines will work in any 4500 compact variants we have listed, but their date of manufacture is important for a good many Smith & Wesson collectors. Mid to late 1990s specimens many times had Orange colored followers, and late 1990s and current production 19074 magazines have black followers. Surface wear is minimal to moderate as the photos show. We rate this lot as Very Good, perhaps even excellent. Photos should suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. All these magazines are excellent mechanically. Note the small amounts of carbon residue on the followers. Replacement pricing on these is upwards of $60 apiece in our area, when a person can even find them. We're offering these fine magazines each, however, for only $ 39.00.
