Here is a moderately used specimen of Smith & Wesson’s currently produced magazine to fit all its 4000 series metal frame pistols, including 4003 and 4006 models. The original pistols, of course, were double stacked and held 11 rounds of .40 S&W. Note the creased surface of the stainless body; this magazine holds a total of only 10 rounds. It is legal in all 50 states, and has only moderate insertion and ejection scouring on its stainless body; and moderate carbon residue on its blue polymer follower. These are civilian legal, of course, in the Jurisdictions where only Law Enforcement may own the standard eleven rounders.
