Sharps 1859 Carbine .50-70, 41686, viable shooter

Sharps New Model 1859 Carbine converted to .50-70 Government. Serial number 41686 features a 22-inch barrel with a Lawrence folding elevator rear sight. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.3 pounds. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. CONDITION: Bore is reasonably bright and shows some roughness, mostly near the muzzle. (The long-term owner indicates it remains a consistent shooter, with a cold-bore shot going high and right and all others then on target.) Metal surfaces appear to have been cleaned. Essentially absent finish, there are areas of scaling and light pitting. Wood appears to have been sanded and refinished. Forend has a missing sliver from right rear. Mechanically sound.
