The Ruger American Rimfire Target is a bolt-action rimfire rifle built around a cold hammer-forged, threaded 0.860" bull barrel (18" length) with a factory knurled thread protector and a factory-installed one-piece aluminum scope rail. It ships with a detachable, flush-mounted JMX-1 9-round rotary magazine (accepts BX-15® Magnum) and features Ruger’s Power Bedding™ integral bedding block for a free-floated barrel and improved accuracy.
The black laminate stock includes an Alexander Henry forend, sling swivel studs and a rubber buttpad. Additional verified features include the Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger (user adjustable 3–5 lb.), a visible tang safety, a 60° bolt throw with receiver-mounted bolt release, satin blued alloy steel metalwork, and an overall length of 37" with a weight of 6.8 lb.
