Rossi 12 gauge Overland Coach Gun 3 inch 20 inch IC & Mod Excellent Rabbit Ear Blue & Goncalo mfg ca. 1975

Actually a better gun than the old 1887 Remington that it was cloned from, this Brazilian made Rossi Coach gun is all blue steel, very sturdy, with Brazilian Goncalo stock and forend. Barrels are 20 inch .720 diameter Improved Cylinder Right Barrel and .712 Modified Left Tube. Chambering is 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells interchangeably. Weight empty is 8 pounds. Type is external hammer Coach style Double Barrel, with bright blue steel barrels, reciever, and trigger guard; and with Color Casehardened Rabbit Ear hammers. Hammers have half cock safety feature, but no other manually operated safety. Length of pull for the buttstock is 14 1/4 inches from the face of the forward / right tube trigger to the end of the factory Amadeo Rossi buttplate. While this is a very attractive shotgun, and a well made one, it is also collectable. This specimen comes to us from a dealer estate in nearby Western Kentucky. We do not believe it was ever sold or fired. From its Garcia / Washington DC Import Stamp and its RGT57000 serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1975 or 1976. Beretta took over the Garcia operations in 1978, and their affiliates continued with the Stoeger Brazilian Shotguns, but Rossi went to Interarms during the 1970s. Condition on this shotgun is Near Mint, if not Mint and Unfired.
