Remington SR8 Sniper protoytpe 338 lapua

Remington built 10 prototype sniper rifles in 1997 chambered for 338 Lapua. Prior to building those rifles they borrowed a rifle that was built in 1989 as an experiment to determine the possibility of upgrading the Army's M24. The story is sort of long and was published in an article in "Tactical Shooter" magazine (1999 or 2000). I can provide a copy of that article if requested. Anyway, that rifle was rebuilt by Remington to the SR8 pattern before being returned to the owner (me). Most of the originals were destroyed and the others are not likely to leave the factory. This is you chance to own the only SR8 built be Remington. It has a 27" 5R barrel rifled 1:11.5 and has a Remington 20-port muzzlebrake. Includes a 16X Leupold Mark 4 with Mil-Dot reticle.
