Seller Description
Up for sale is a Remington 1903A3 that has an excellent four groove barrel dated 4-43. Barrel TE=.300 and MW=.300. These measurements were done w/a CMP 1903A3 gauges. By looking @ this barrel it looks new w/the beginning front edges of the rifling @ the throat is very sharp and uniformed. This firearm has all matching date codes receiver date 4/43 & barrel date 4/43 (Compiled by William Hansen) All parts are mark w/an R all but the front blade has a C which is normal during US armory production back in is a P on the underside of the barrel just in front of the bayonet lug. Stock has normal handling marks w/no cracks but has a lot of cosmoline in the wood grains and sometime comes to the surface from warmer ambient temperatures. Stock cartouches; there is a very visible RIA FK 3 in a rectangle border, faded FJK in a rectangle border, OG a small rectangle border, a P in a circle behind trigger guard, and in front of trigger guard there is an 88 in a very small square, 18 in a very small circle, G in a very small circle, and a triangle. Very faint cross cannon w/flame cannonball. There is also a flame cannonball @ the frontend of the stock just in front of the bayonet lug. Bolt handle has a SA & an R stamped on the underside. The stock is an earlier make w/straight grip w/brass reinforcement pins instead of the later stocks w/reinforcement hardware. This stock also falls in the production date of this firearm. The rear sight is also an earlier make w/the set screw to hold it in place instead of it being staked in place like the later rear sight. Rear sight also falls into the production date of this firearm. I purchased this firearm it was cover in cosmoline. There is a front sight protector (I had to remove to clean the firearm) w/US flaming ball w/an R. Also w/this firearm there is a lite brown color canvas muzzle cover w/US marking and a name TWEEDIE 1944 on it. This firearm is in excellent condition for it's age. I never fired this firearm so I can't say how accurate it is. Firearm still needs to be thoroughly cleaned. There is still some cosmoline in the breach and on other parts. Please make sure that your FFL dealer accepts firearms from a privet seller before buying. Payment w/USPS Money Order firearm ships next business day.
