Remington 1858/1863 New Model Pocket revolver

this Remington 1858/1863 New Model Pocket ser.#24776 started out as a .31 cal. perc. then sometime in the late 1860`s or early 1870`s Remington converted it to 32 rimfire and re-nickled it.[this was a common practice w/the gun manufactureres since the trend was turning to the new metallic cartridge firearms. Remington figured out how to convert their percussion revolvers to cartridge handguns rather than scrap them , they had too much money tied up in them to just throw them away. This revolver looks like a new revolver w/ the exception that the finish is a bit cloudy in areas. The original grips are in great condition having just a few minor handling bumps for its 140+ years. The ser.# is on the underside of the barrel, on the trigger fram , the grip frame and penciled on the back of the mechanics are as new,the un-fluted cylinder locks up tight and in-time as it cylinder conversion plate has Remingtons innovative safety notches in it allowing you to carry the revolver fully loaded un-like Colt , Marlin and others where youd have to carry the hammer on an empty chamber or risk shooting your self or others. The 3 1/2" barrel has great rifling and just a few minor pits which is to be expected since it started out as a b.p revolver.I do shoot this revolver quite often having shot over 13 boxes of ammo through it this past summer. *** I`ll give you 3 days to examine it , you can return it unless you`ve fired it , if you shoot it you own it !
