Remington 03-A3 custom 7mm Rem. Magnum by Standish circa 1972

Custom Remington 03-A3 7mm Remington Magnum. Presented to the consigning seller on his 21st birthday in 1972 by his parents, it is based on a high-numbered (3533243) action obtained from the NRA many years prior and saved for this occasion. The 24-inch barrel is a Star Premium which that company also chambered and fitted to the action. Metal work such as the bolt alteration, polishing and bluing was executed by Vern Herr. Bishop provided the select presentation grade American walnut blank and Don Standish crafted the stock. Additional custom touches include a Neidner butt plate and grip cap, along with Numerich Arms bottom metal. The trigger is a Canjar Deluxe. Overall metal condition is at least 95%, and would be much higher other than thinning on the bottom metal. Wood is about 99%. There is a small area of repair on the bottom next to the trigger guard where a sliver of wood must have come away during finish and then was replaced. Owner has recorded multiple 3-shot, 100 yard groups measuring less than one inch. A "Gun-Ho" presentation case is included (if desired).
