RARE 1941 Johnson's Rifle Semi-automatic 30-06 WWII C&R

**** WE ONLY ACCEPT VISA AND MASTERCARD ***** We are offering a 1941 Johnson’s Rifle chambered in 30-06 caliber. The 1941 Johnson was developed by Melvin Johnson, a gun designer who felt that the M1 Garand rifle had several significant flaws – so he developed his own semiauto .30-06 rifle to supplement the M1. The army decided that the two guns were very similar and stuck with the M1 Garand as its go-to rifle. The 1941 Johnson was all but forgotten until the Bay of Pigs invasion when it made a brief reappearance. TODAY THESE GUNS ARE EXTREMELY SCARCE AND VERY HARD TO FIND The 23” barrel is in very good condition retaining much of its original color. The muzzle is very good with a clean bore, showing excellent rifling. The receiver is good to very good showing some color loss, surface wear. Bolt action works perfectly (bolt serial # different than receiver). The 1941 used a fixed 10-round rotary magazine, which could be fed by 5-round standard stripper clips or loose individual cartridges. It could also be topped up without interfering with the rifle’s action, unlike the M1. Fixed front sight, adjustable ramp style rear sight. The furniture on this 1941 Johnson shows some wear and repair. There are 4 distinct spots on the left side of the stock that have been repaired with an older style wood putty. This stock is still attractive and shows only light surface wear aside from the repairs.
