LG1213 Here is one of the nicest old Marlins we’ve had in some time. From the mid 1960s up until the early 1970s, Marlin, Mossberg, Winchester, and Savage manufactured brand name firearms for several franchise stores, including Western Auto with its Revelation trade name. From this rifle’s W7900 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1965 or 1966. Barrel markings read Revelation – Model 200 / Western Auto Supply Co. To the best of our knowledge, this rifle was bought new from the Western Auto in Selmer, Tennessee; and wound up in the hands of our friendly competitor, the late Mr. Gillis Wallace, in the 1980s. It is a two-owner; but from our knowledge of its history and from its condition, we doubt it has been fired more than 100 times. Type is tube fed lever action repeating rifle, 20 inch Micro-Groove barrel with dovetailed front sight and matching bent steel step elevator rear sight. Finish is blue steel with satin oil fiished American walnut buttstock and forend. Capacity is 7+1 rounds of .30-30 Winchester Caliber ammunition. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches from the center of the blue steel trigger to the end of the original unmarked buttplate. Note that the original gloss black anodized hammer spur is intact. Manufacturer was Marlin Fiearms, 100 Kenna Drive, New Haven, Connecticut. Surface detractions are minimal, principally two small impresses on the left side of the forend, and faint edge whitening here and there. We rate it as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, since no more than 10 to 15 percent of its surfaces are affected by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent.
