MBA GyroJet Rocket Pistol - Rare 13MM Variant - New In the Box W/ All Factory Paperwork

Over 40 years old and still in new-in-the-box unfired condition ! Also included with this pistol are the exceptionally rare original owners manual and sales brochure. Over 40 years ago MBA Associates brought the world's first rocket propelled projectile firearms to market. The GyroJet originally fired a 13MM fin-stabilized rocket propelled munition that could obtain speed of 1,250 feet per second and could even be shot underwater ! The GyroJet's revolutionary design was quickly incorporated into the still widely used US Armed Forces M203 rocket propelled grenade. The pistol fires from a fixed magazine which is loaded from above. When the safety is deactivated and weapon cocked, a pull of the trigger actually rams a rocket projectile back onto the fixed firing pin ( sort of like dropping a mortar down the launcher ) which ignites the rocket propellant charge. The projectile achieves the majority of its acceleration after exciting the barrel so there is very little felt recoil or report ( in fact, one of the intended uses was as an assassination pistol that didn't require a silencer ) upon firing the weapon. This pistol is the much rarer 13MM caliber variant of the GyroJet firearms. The 13MM was the original caliber manufactured by MBA when they first introduced the GyroJet in 1966. Unfortunately, what MBA had failed to realize was that 13MM = .51 caliber. Any modern firearm capable of firing a projectile greater than .50" in diameter is considered a Destructive Device as defined by the National Firearms Act ( NFA ) of 1934 and as such is highly restricted. MBA immediately discontinued the 13MM variant of the GyroJet and relaunched the pistol in 12MM caliber only. Thankfully, ATF grandfathered the few 13MM Gyrojets that were produced prior to their discontinuation as legal title one firearms. The 13MM caliber GyroJet pistol is treated just like any other modern firearm and can be owned by anyone who can legally purchase a handgun.
