A nice WWII era collectible The AN-M8 Pyrotechnic Pistol was developed during WWII and is possibly still seeing use. I know the Air Force was using them until at least 2002. The AN-M8 is a double-action, single loading pistol used for projecting flares or signaling between troops, from ground troops to aircraft, from aircraft to aircraft, or from aircraft to ground troops. Specifications: • Weight - 2.13 lb. • Length (overall) - 8 in. • Length of barrel - 4-1/8 in. • Diameter of bore - 1.580 in. • Trigger Pull - 5 to 8 lb. Shoots an approximate 1-1/2" diameter flare. This is in the pistol variety with a 4-1/8" bbl and a pistol grip. Marked on the gun is "US Property Pistol Pyrotechnic M-8." You never know when you might need a flare gun! US M8 M-8 WW2 Flare Pistol 37 MM dated 1943. Here is a very nice 1943 dated M8 Flare pistol in 37mm. This is in very nice shape of being from 1943. It doesn’t look like it has been used very much. The WWII M8 Pyrotechnic Pistol is a double-action, single loading pistol used for projecting flares or signaling between troops, from ground troops to aircraft, from aircraft to aircraft, or from aircraft to ground troops. It has a built in ejector when you open the barrel. The barrel has lugs so it can be locked into an airplane firing ports for discharge. Overall a very nice piece. No FFL required.
