Seller Description
Advances in castings brought us the Glocks and Kel-Tecs of the 1980s with polymers. The same advances in casting technology spelled the doom of the well made but cheap little steel and pot metal pistols manufactured in Florida by F.I.E. and Excam with Italian and U.S. parts. Some time in the 1980s, companies called Raven Arms, then Jennings, then Davis Industries, then Lorcin, sprang up in California and began manufacturing inferior pot-metal pistols. When California adopted some of its stricter laws in the late 1990s, the companies vacated to North Carolina, hence the High Point brand. Sometimes when local shoppers ask us if we carry High Points, we tell them that we’d rather live next door to someone who had a gun than have one of them. Here is a confiscated weapon from one of our local police agencies.
This is a Lorcin L-380 auto chambered in .380 ACP. It appears Very Good finishwise to us, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Mechanically, it is probably as good as new, since the High Points are inferior quality firearms anyway. It has its original magazine. We are selling it for parts, as follows:
slide only ----- $ 29.95; firing pin assembly, housing, spring and pin ----- $ 29.95; trigger assembly ----- $ 29.95; grips and grip screws ----- $ 29.95; magazine ---- $ 29.95
or buy all the parts for $ 119.95 and we’ll have the frame and barrel assembly disposed of, or, buy the entire pistol freight paid to the lower 48 for only $ 59.00. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, Akron OH, Cleveland OH, Cincinnati, D.C., Massachusetts, New York City, or South Carolina. We will not accept returns on this type gun. This is a cheap, pot-metal gun; people who want a good cheap gun should buy a new or used Rossi or Taurus Revolver. We make two guarantees on this kind, 1. We warrant title because we are not going to take it back, if you buy it, then, we guarantee it’s yours; and 2. as our late proprietor emeritus said, we guarantee it NOT to shoot.
