Seller Description
This is an Australian Lithgow MK1 wood front stock. It is in very nice condition, see photo. Perfect for someone who has a Lithgow that was hacked up in the past & wants to return theirs to as issued condition! Appears to be the typical coachwood they used at this time period. The only marking on the stock is the letter B stamped on the bottom of the front between the barrel band & the nose cap. It has a few of the brass repair pins used by the armor to do repairs at the depot which is very common to a lot of older Enfield type rifles. The Lithgow differs from the other MK1 Enfield's in that they have a steel plate in the rear of the front wood that is keyed the buttstock bolt. Many of these front pieces are broken out in this area because someone did not take off the front wood before unscrewing the buttstock bolt! This stock was damaged in this manner but has been expertly repaired so as to be unseen when the rifle is all together! The front wood fits perfectly just as it should. These units are very hard to come by in non hacked up or undamaged condition PRICED TO SELL AT $99.99!
