Knife: Buck 2901 USA Lockblade Near Mint

We lack expertise on exact dating for Buck Knives. One thing, however, that we do not lack knowledge of is the recent appearance of the words Made in China on Buck Products, and we expect that the late, great, and much missed Mr. Al Buck is turning somersaults in his grave over this situation. This late 1990s Buck product was doubtless an attempt to retain market force among the rather strange but similar knives that began proliferating around the turn of the Millennium. Other than a small series of light scuffs on the reverse of the blade, this one is in mint or near mint condition. We do not believe it has ever been sharpened; it obviously hasn’t needed sharpening – classic Buck state of affairs. Overall length opened is a bit over 6 inches; the blade measures 2 9/16 inches from the point to the shoulder of the handle apparatus. Note the intricacy of the locking and unlocking mechanism; this knife has spring-assisted mechanical opening, but is not a press button knife at all.
