K98K WITH FAKE SS MARKINGS

This is an authentic Mauser K98K rifle that fake SS death heads and runes have been added somewhere in it's life. There appears to be no chance these markings are authentic as three independent experts in the field of SS rifles have opined them to be fake. The consensus is the markings as well as manufacture codes were added to the rifle 30 or so years ago. The upside is that the rifle is a not bad looking fully functional Mauser for a very low price suitable for re-enacting or hunting. I acquired the rifle nine years ago believing it to be authentic. In every collectors life there is at least one example of being taken; this was mine. I have fired the rifle but advise the buyer to have it examined by a competent gunsmith before firing. Rifle comes with sling and a Czech bayonet that looks nice but is not correct for a German Mauser. Due to the low cost of the rifle and high cost of shipping, this is an "as is" sale with no returns.
