Seller Description
MAUSER K98 - bcd 41 –
K98 GERMAN MAUSER 1941 bcd – 8 MM. Serial Number 9628a. Meticulously hand restored by James River Armory, a highly respected military firearms restorer. This rifle was built by Gustloff Werke, Weimar, in 1941, with only 163,669 produced (Richard D. Law, “Backbone of the Wehrmacht – The German K98K Rifle 1934-1945”).
This is an original German K98 Mauser with intact Nazi markings. The firing proof mark, "beschussstempel" has a nearly full Nazi style Swastika on the receiver ring as shown. The barrel is a new Krieger barrel, head-spaced and ready to shoot.. The receiver right hand side has a variety of intact Armed Forces Inspection Stamps. or “waffenamts”. The floor plate has matching serial numbers (likely reserialized during a rebuild) and also has intact inspection stamps.
This rifle has an original stock set with correct finish, properly cartouched; original sights and bands, the front sight with a hood; correct butt plate for the manufacturer and year; all critical areas inspected for safety by a certified armorer; all metal detail refinished in proper bluing and polish. Some minor receiver pitting. No obvious import marks, but likely a Russian capture rifle.
This is a genuine German Nazi Mauser, made in Germany, and now becoming very scarce in this condition as prices continue to rise. Use it to shoot, for re-enactment, for modernizing with its time-proven action, or to collect. Comes with a one-month James River warranty for functionality, and a Plano Gun Guard case. This is a very nice WWII rifle, and a historical piece without question.
