Ithaca Model 37, 1940, 12 gauge, Mod Choke w 30 " barrel

This is a pre-war (1940), 12 gauge, Ithaca Model 37 with Modified, 30 " barrel (choke opened from full by a previous owner). I patterned the gun and the Barrel throws beautiful 60 % patterns (Modified) with lead field loads. Original butt plate, fluted stock comb, unusual and very attractive figured wood, pre-war hand checkering on wrist & forearm, and original brass bead. Grip cap is missing. Minor head of stock cracks repaired internally. All metal surfaces have turned to a pewter patina, with very minor traces of surface pitting. Action is Ithaca SMOOTH ! Trigger pull is "sweet", and total weight is only 6 3/4 lbs. It would be a perfect restoration applying a hand rubbed oil refinish and re-blueing the metal on this very attractive pre-war Ithaca. Or, as I have used it for 5 years...a perfect "Rainy Day Gun as is".
