Hoban No. 45 .22 S, L, LR Single Shot Bolt Rifle. Great Project gun ! C&R OK !

The Hoban Mfg. Co. succeeded the Hamilton Rifle Co only to be bought out later by Daisy.. This company, in Salem, Michigan was run by Pat Hoban. aside from other products, the Hoban Mfg Company made the Model 45 Rifle, (for the year of its introduction), from 1945 until 1948. The rifle was a short, long or long rifle, single shot, boy’s rifle. It was designed to be reminiscent of an M1 Carbine which made perfect sense coming out of WWII. During production of the gun it was offered as a promotional for a product called; WHITE CLOVERINE SALVE. (White Cloverine, was used to ease the pain of minor burns, scalds, sunburns, and windburn.) . If you sold a certain amount of cans, you would get this gun free as a premium. Or you could buy one for $14.95. (@ 1 Bazillion $$$ today!) These little rifles have since become fairly collectable and not often encountered. This particular example appears to be 100% original. Stock is cracked with a chip out by the forend. Both are easily repairable. Bluing is faded and there is some scaling that most of these were pretty beat having been given away and used mostly by kids. Excellent bore. Excellent working order. All markings are clear and readable. Adjustable rear sight. This little guy has a 20 inch barrel and overall length of only 34 1/4 inches. See pics and ask questions.
