FRENCH MAS 36 7.5X54MM RIFLE NON-IMPORT

French Model 1936 bolt-action rifle. Caliber 7.5x54mm (7.5 French). Serial number G42619. Produced by Manufacture d’Armes de Saint-Etienne (MAS) in France in April 1939 as indicated by the cartouche roundel on the right side of the butt-stock. The left side of the receiver displays the maker and model markings “MAS Mle 1936” and serial number. NO IMPORT MARKS. All matching (receiver, bolt, trigger guard, magazine floor-plate, butt-stock, fore-arm, bayonet). All the serial numbers are original and are not re-stamped. Correct pre-war style open fixed front sight. Adjustable peep rear sight calibrated from 200 to 1200 meters. Correct style bolt with turned down forward-angled handle. Original correct spike bayonet with matching serial number. The metal retains approximately 85% of its original baked black enamel over phosphate finish and was never refurbished by French arsenals. No rust or pitting. The original wood furniture is nice and has handling marks, dings, and minor scratches with no cracks. The bore is in mint condition with strong and shiny rifling. All the markings and numbers are clearly visible on the metal and wood.
