Seller Description
Eli Whitney M1812 contract musket with percussion conversion. Partial "" riband marking on lock. 41" barrel. Metal parts were cleaned at some point and are beginning to accumulate a rust patina. Has an unusual ramrod with a lead bullet for the head, which was obviously made during the period of use. Stock was lightly cleaned but still has good edges, shows some open grain that could be regarded as light age cracks, has a small chip in the forward lock mortise, and some burned wood behind the hammer. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
