EXCELLENT 5TH MODEL BURNSIDE CAVALRY CARBINE

BURNSIDE RIFLE COMPANY PROVIDENCE R.I. MODEL OF 1864 . Cal 54. serial number 8185 . 21 inch round barrel . Single leaf folding rear sight . Two piece walnut stocks with very strong US Gov't inspectors retains most of its factory blue finish and bore is bright with sharp land and grooves . Breech assembly is nearly perfect with very light evidence of use and still retains most of its bright blue finish . Receiver has lost most of its case colored finish with exception of protected areas Lock plate has turned mostly plumb with slight brightness at rear . CONDITION : Very good , action is very tight and shows little evidence of use . Very light surface rust is evident on topside of carbine from being stored on a horizontal rack.
