Seller Description
Custom muzzleloading caplock rifle by Steve Blackstone of White Eyes Rifle Works, Ohio, a re-creation of the rifle used by Civil War Union sharpshooter Sanford Bascom. Rifle features a Green Mountain .45-caliber octagon barrel that is 35" long and 1.25" across the flats, has a #6 taper, 1-18" twist, .450 land, and .458 groove. The rifle is set up for paper patch bullets of 450-550 gr.
The rifle comes with a Lyman Century 4x Target Rifle scope (mounted) that is 34" long. Included in the package are a S/S rod with appropriate tips, and a brass powder-drop tube. Rifle with scope attached weighs 18.6 pounds.
Rifle, scope, rod, and drop tube will be shipped in an aluminum "Bulletproof Black Powder Rifle Case" by Cabela's. Also included, but shipped separately, are various patched bullets, 200 .442 cast bullets of 450-550 wt. by Buffalo Arms, three paper patch templates, and a brass variation of the Neidner system of paper-patching bullets.
This is an extremely accurate rifle capable of sub-MOA groups at 100yds and beyond. All in like-new condition.
