You are bidding on a COLT Model 1849 Pocket revolver chambered in .31 Caliber. This is a 5” example which remains in very nice, completely original condition. All numbers match. Manufactured in 1862. 5” octagon barrel is very good with a bright, clean bore showing excellent rifling. The barrel retains some of the original bluing in spots. Two-line address on top edge. The frame is amazing with some bright, original case colors. Hammer and trigger function flawlessly. The cylinder remains very good with some of the original bluing intact; “Stagecoach Holdup” scene remains crisp and completely visible. The silver plated brass trigger guard and grip strap retains 95% of its original plating. The previous owner’s name is elaborately engraved on butt end. The original grip plates are very good with light handling wear. No breaks or cracks noted. A majority of the screws remains untouched with original fire blue coloring. HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE EXAMPLE!!
