Seller Description
LNIB Model 1886 rifle. The rifles were produced only 1 year unlike the common carbines. These rifles do not have the tang safety the lawyers at Winchester put on the new guns they produce. This rifle has a 26 inch octagon barrel and is very uncommon in comparison to the 20 inch round barrel carbine. It has a metal forend tip and a cresent buttplate, the carbines have instead a barrel band and a rounded carbine buttplate making the rifles much more attractive. The Browning 1886's were made the way JM Browning designed them without a safety or the rebounding hammer. Modern Winchesters have both with the hammer causing ignition problems with some ammo. This rifle has been tested fired only with 20rds of Remington ammo. Seller will pay shipping/insurance within the lower 48 States if the asking price is met. Questions? Call
