A very rare Bittner repeating pistol. Less than 500 made in 1893 by Gustav Bittner this pistol is in very good condition. Excellent color on the receiver and nice unpitted bore. The muzzle exhibits some holster wear and pitting. The overall condition of this pistol is extraordinary considering the rarity of the firearm. Chambered for 7.7 Bittner this pistol displays a proof house number of 1821 with a year proof date of 97 (1897). The markings under the grip are AM, followed by an 8, and about one inch to the right the number 7. The barrel is approximately 5,7/8-inch long with a very nicely hand milled top rib. An extraordinary piece for a collector of fine European craftsmanship.
