Seller Description
This listing is for the exact shotgun in the photos. Here is an early Beretta A302 field shotgun. Manufacturer was Pietro Beretta s.p.a. of Gardone, Italy. This shotgun was never in the United States until recently. It served agricultural duty in the Land of Israel. From its AH date code, it was manufactured in 1981. Type is gas operated semi automatic shotgun. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, gas piston, bolt, carrier, levers, and internal parts assembled into an alloy receiver and trigger housing. Buttstock and forend are Italian Walnut. Barrel is 22 inch chrome lined smooth bore, chambered for 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch shells only. It will not chamber a 3 inch shell. Muzzle is .718 Cylinder Bore, designed for slugs but also useful for most any kind of shot, from Bismuth to Steel to Buckshot Front sight is welded serrated ramp, with dovetailed brass beaded blade. Rear sight is dovetailed low profile 5 piece, spring loaded and windage and elevation adjustable. 8 1/2 inch magazine tube holds 3 total 2 3/4 inch shells, so 3 + 1 capacity or 3 + 2 with ghost shell sitting on the carrier. This shotgun is 301/302/303/B80 action, not capable of receiving a magazine tube extension. Bolt is chrome plated, with bolt release button right side, and with right side magazine shutoff lever. Shell carrier release button is behind that part. Safety is gunsmith reversable, forward of the trigger guard, for right handed shooters. Trigger is .250 smooth faced, pulls single stage at 4 1/4 pounds with moderate felt creep and minimal overtravel. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1/2 inch factory recoil pad. Drop is 1 1/4 by 2 1/4 with a full 1 inch right hand cast. Note the 3/4 inch permanent steel sling swivels on the buttstock and magazine cap. Overall length is 47 1/2 inches. Weight empty is 6 pounds 13 ounces, centered at the breech face. Finish is polished surface blued, with gloss black anodized receiver and guard; and with gloss finished cut checkered walnut. Surface detractions on this A302 are moderate, principally lateral scouring on the wood, and occasional small white spots on the receiver. We rate this Beretta as Very Good Condition, 75 to 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, threads, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this Beretta's action was fired fewer than 500 times in action against winged and four legged raiders of the Israeli row crops. Replacement pricing for its nearest successor is $900 on beretta com. We're offering the 1981 A302 in the photos, however, for only $ 289.00. Any ammunition or personnel in photos are Not included.
