Antique Afghan Jezail "CAMEL GUN" Mid 1800's ORNATE DESIGN .60 Cal.

We are offering for sale an antique Afghan Jezail “CAMEL GUN”. This very long rifle has an English BAKER PATTERN Flintlock dating between 1819 -1839. The gun was handmade sometime around then most likely. This is a VERY ORNATELY DECORATED early afghan rifle. I believe it is chambered in .60 caliber. The 48” barrel is very good with a RIFLED BORE. The muzzle is unique in design and mushrooms out in a larger diameter than the barrel. Hard to see what the bore is like, but I assume it is good. Barrel is marked “A.S.” on left side as it approaches the action./ As stated previously the Flintlock is an English BAKER PATTERN lock. Antique flint still intact. Unfortunately the trigger grouping is not in working condition. The stock is extremely decorative on this example. There are six brass barrel bands, 5 of which are matching with red and black accents. Second band closest to muzzle is not matching and is perhaps a later replacement. Brass inlay begins at the action and continues ornately to the shoulder stock. Shoulder part of the stock shows damage and could use restoration. OVERALL LENGTH OF 62”!!
