Al Biesen

Al Biesen lightweight Custom .257 Roberts rifle. Man-oh-man, where do I start? This rifle was built on a finely blued and refined Pre-Garcia Sako L579 Forester action that Biesen has worked over and added things such as perfectly executed small jewelling of the bolt that also has a custom bolt handle done by him, or at least a factory bolt that Biesen reshaped. Custom made or refined hinged floorplate with the latch inside the trigger guard bow. A 22 inch non-glare silver/gray finished barrel and finished that way on purpose. Rifle weighs only about 7.0 lbs, with 6x Redfield 1 inch scope that is Hallmarked with "Al Biesen-Gunmaker". Finely checkered about 26 LPI, perhaps even finer, in the classic Fleur-de-lis pattern and recessed about 1/16th inch with all diamonds looking exactly like every other diamond, just like he did them for the likes of "Outdoor Life" Magazine's long-time Shooting Editor until the mid-1970's, Jack O'Connor and other World famous hunters/collectors including the former Prince Abdohreza Palavi of Iran. The great looking Classic stock is done up in very fine grained honey colored English walnut with fine black streaking. Also, Mr. Biesen hollowed out the butt of the stock and precisely fitted his own checkered steel trapped butt plate and grip cap and then finished it with a small and elegant snauble forend. This is truly a master piece of workmanship in a truly fine World Class rifle by one of the very best custom rifle makers that has ever practiced the trade, Mr. Al Biesen. A rifle that most anyone will be proud to own and show. Comes with an extra blue finished 22 inch Featherweight contoured barrel, blued to match that on the Sako action perfectly.
