We are offering a Frank Wesson Model 1870 single shot pistol chambered in .22 caliber. Part of the 1870 pocket rifle series of long barreled single shot stocked pistol, this pistol has a 12” long octagon barrel. Marked “Patented May 31, 1870 on left side of barrel. LOW SERIAL NUMBER.
This very scarce pistol is in very good condition. The 12” octagon barrel is nice with a little of the original bluing remaining near the muzzle end; light signs of pitting present.. The bore is still bright with good rifling; light wear. Nickel plated frame is very good with some freckling in spots. Overall the frame has a nice shine. Hammer and trigger are case hardened with checkering. The original wooden grips are very good with light surface wear. This pistol also comes with the very rare nickel plated skeleton shoulder stock in very good condition with freckling present.
