Seller Description
1860 Spencer 56-56 Army Rifle has a serial # 23487, which puts date of manufacture in 1863. The barrel has 6 grooves and is 30” in length. It has a Front - Rectangular base sight for socket Bayonet with Blade sight. The Rear sight is a ladder military style sight. It has a butt loader magazine. The forend is full length with metal nose cap- chip missing in left side ¼” H, by 3” long at receiver. The LOP is 13 1/8”. The overall weight is 10 lbs. Top of stock at receiver shows a fine crack through ejector guide spring hole 1 ¼” long, but the stock is very sound. On the left side of stock, in the wrist, to rear of rear lock mounting screw are two inspector cartouches. The first one is rectangular and stamped vertically. The second is also rectangular and stamped horizontally. Both inspectors MMJ and DAP
