Springfield Armory's 1911 series includes stainless-steel variants that are built on forged metal frames and slides and equipped with match-grade barrels. Several stainless 1911 models from Springfield feature forged stainless slides/frames, match-grade barrels with a 1:16 twist, and crossed-cannons cocobolo wooden grips. Many of these factory configurations also use low-profile 3-dot combat sights and a commander/GI style recoil system with a full-length or NM-style guide rod depending on the specific model.
