Make and Model - COLT THUER CONVERSION. Converted by Colt from a Model 1849 Pocket Revolver.
Caliber - .36 Caliber
Operation - Single-Action Revolver
Capacity - 5 Shot
Barrel - 6.5"
Finish - The barrel and frame look like they were originally blued, but the bluing has faded and worn with age; very little original finish remains on the barrel and frame. The grip frame is brass. The finish on the cylinder at first looks like nickel, but some sources have said that case-hardening will develop a patina that resembles nickel with age. The finish on the cylinder shows no signs of flaking or peeling, such as would be expected if nickel plating were peeling off. We have no way to positively identify the finish.
Grips - One side of stocks painted white
- Serial Number in the 1500's = early conversion; matching numbers, even on conversion cylinder; lots of photos available. Real history!
