This is one of the six-shot .22 caliber called the Single-Six. It is stamped as a "Ruger 22 Cal. Single-Six". Bill Ruger had recognized that, due to the popularity of the early 1950 s TV and movie westerns, a cowboy type gun should be desirable to the gun public. Early on in the Single-Six production, stag and ivory grip panels with the Ruger Black Eagle logo could be purchased from the factory. This pistol has the stag style grips. The sites to the rear can be slid for windage, the front sight is fixed. The cartridge loading gate is “contour or round”, many term this as a Colt-style gate. These revolvers of this manufacturing timeline are termed as “Roundgates” due to this design. This revolver has no box. It is in good condition, all original, it has some drag lines on the cylinder as shown. The pictures show the finish that exists after 61 years. Made in 1957 based on my research of SN 59259. These revolvers have been going up in value. A Collectable for any Collector amd a must have for those who collect the Six Shooters.
