Seller Description
REDUCED; This S&W Model 49 is .38 Special, shrouded hammer revolver made in 1965. It is one of the finest of all pocket revolvers since even though the hammer is accessible it can not be caught in a pocket lining during a draw but can still be thumb cocked. This forty-five year old revolver retains a 97% factory blue finish. it also has a set of correct factory, Diamond, walnut, checkered Medallion grip panels. The cylinder latch is of the most common, second type with a dished, checkered thumbpiece. The hammer and trigger are both color casehardened and the trigger has a blued, seratted trigger shoe that makes the trigger pull seem much smoother and lighter. The hammer is ribbed. The fixed sights are of the usual stule with a 1/10" ribbed front ramp blade and the usual square notch and groove rear sight. The cylinder does has a visable ring from the bolt. The bore shows slight wear and this is a steel frame revolver. Once a carry gun of someone who wanted to put his shots in the 10 ring. Still, it can be used for a carry piece or a collectable.
