I purchased this gun new and only fired 200 rounds at an indoor transporting the slide for enhanced Cerakote finishing, I dropped the original slide while riding on my motorcycle. I replaced the slide with an SDVE 40 slide because I couldn't find a SDVE9 slide in like new condition. I contacted Smith and Wesson and they required me to ship in the gun and wait 6 months before they would even look at it and then charge a ridiculously high price for a new doing some research online and double checking with several gun dealers who verified with Smith and Wesson that the SDVE40 and SDVE9 slides are the exact same part other than the etching on slide.
So, it says SDVE40 on the slide but it's exactly the same part used on the 9mm (what changes is obviously the barrel size). Smith & Wesson probably did this to save on manufacturing costs for two different models.
This gun was meticulously cleaned and cared for and has never misfired or is in perfect has removable Talon grips installed and comes with the 2 original magazines limited to 10 shots to be California compliant.
