Springfield M1D Garand sniper rifle for M1D has the original barrel with the M1D heat lot or drawing number of D7312555 with a barrel date of 03/ M1D barrels are dated 1952 so this rifle is rare with the 1953 barrel Muzzle Wear (MW) is a 1+ and Throat Errosion (TE) of factory original barrels could have MW of 0 to 2 and TE of 0-3 it is possible that it has seen limited use as each number reflects about 1000 rounds have been my estimated number. It is in quite good condition with the usual stock bumps, dings and scratches that you see come out of CMP. It is an American Walnut stock that looks good and the receiver and trigger group lock up tight. The cheek pad is authentic and is stamped MRT cheek pad is functional but well worn, with some of the grommets pulled loose or M84 scope and the scope mount are reproductions but they also lock up tight to the flash suppressor is Italian made and is marked Parafiamma is indistinguishable from an original rifle shoots very good and the scope is zeroed at 100 yards and groups is the cheapest way to get into vintage military sniper competition.
