A collector sent the pistol to Accurate Plating & Weaponry for restoration and evaluation. The gun is quite beautiful, the cylinder lock-up is very good and the bore is excellent. Unfortunately, the full-cock, single-action notch on the sear is too worn to hold the hammer. The pistol can only be fired in Double-Action mode. The good part is, that's what it was made for! The safety sear notch and the loading notch are fine. Bob Cogan pointed out that none of these guns should be fired much, if at all, as they are usually collection enhancements. The pistol features a 4 1/2" barrel, 6-shot, .38 Colt cylinder, royal blued screws, a birds-head grip-frame and one piece, elephant ivory stocks by Jerry Meacham. The front sight is half of an 1877 dime. Absolutely stunning! More photos available upon request.
