Up for auction is a really nice 1943-marked, 91/30 Russian sniper rifle. The wood is in excellent condition: no cracks, no gauges, no dings. Metal is also good: no rust and no pitting. Bluing is still good: 90% plus. Comes with sling, bayonet, and ammo pouches (not shown) if desired. This rifle appears to be an original sniper. I say "appears" only because Classic Arms, the original seller, can not provide paperwork to verify. But the invoice states that it is an original sniper. The numbers and condition of the rifle tend to support that statement: Receiver number is crossed-out to match scope (typical of wartime conditions) and the scope mount is electro-penciled to match. Bolt # matches scope; scope is dated 1940. Relieving cuts in stock for scope mount appear to be aged naturally to match age of a bench rest using Red Army ammo, rifle shoots under 3 MOA. Trigged is smooth with the typical long take-up, but has a clean break. The reason for the low price is that I can't absolutely, positively guarantee that this is genuine (although I believe it to be genuine) because I have no paperwork that establishes the fact. But it's still a great looking rifle and a good shooter.
