This Enfield No1 MarkIII in .303 caliber dated 1916 is in remarkable condition for a weapon that may have fought through 2 wars. 90% of the bluing (or blacking as is the case with British weapons) is still present. The receiver, bolt, adjustable rear sight and magazine have matching serial numbers. I haven't disassembled the rifle to check the rest of it. The bore, while showing some wear, is still shiny with defined lands and grooves and no pitting. The action locks up tight. I haven't found any import markings. The stock has the brass disc and butt plate but the disc is not unit marked. There are no inspector cartouches or unit markings on the stock except for the number 6. The stock is solid with many small dings and dents and three old arsenal repairs to the top of the hand guard. The stock has great character. C&R eligible. Will ship in a foam-lined hard plastic rifle case to prevent damage to your new rifle during transit. Bank check or money order only. No personal check or credit card, please.
