Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: 3 Days This Seller Accepts Instant Online Payments Description: This is a sporterized German Model 98 Mauser from 1937. This rifle was made in the J.P. Sauer & Sohn Suhl factory of Germany. The stock was shortened and has three German eagles stamped on the rear. The stock finish is worn where the rubber butt pad is in place but the finish is in good condition on the rest of the stock. The rifle has the original front sight but the rear sight was removed and replaced with a Lyman Peep sight. All of the serial numbers on the rifle and stock are matching. The German eagle as well as the Nazi eagle are stamped on the side of the receiver. Based on my research it would appear that this rifle was used in WWII by the 214th infantry division. Underneath every eagle there is a 214 stamped. The rifle itself has no import marks. The rifling inside the barrel is in good condition and there is no pitting inside or out. The barrel has a total length of 23 inches. Payment Conditions We accept payment for long arms and pistols with U.S. postal money order and certified check.
