Seller Description

.358 Shooting Times Alaskan (STA). The .358 STA cartridge was designed by Layne Simpson a staff writer for the Shooting Times magazine. The rifle being offered here was custom built by Gary Mackey on a Sako AV LH action, serial number 805243. The stainless steel barrel was manufactured by Shilen and has a 1:12 twist. The barrel is 24" long and has been Mag-Na-Ported. The stock is a McMillan fiberglass stock painted with a false granite finish. This cartridge is ideal for Elk, Moose and Brown Bear. The average muzzle velocity for the following bullet weights is: 180 gr. - 3300+ fps, 200 gr. - 3200+ fps, 225 gr. 3100+ fps, 250 gr. - 3000+ fps, 275 gr. - 2800+ fps, 300 gr. 2700+ fps.
